University Success Program
COMMITMENT AND UNDERSTANDING
National Entrepreneurial and Canada Scholarships
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
All Scholars will be required to participate in a University Success Program throughout their grade 12 year of high school. The main goal of the University Success Program is to support Scholars throughout the university admissions process and prepare them to thrive during their first year of university and beyond.
Our Scholar Services Coordinators will facilitate the University Success Program, and we will focus on the following topics throughout the program:
* University Admissions and Applications
* Student Financial Aid
* Academics in University
* Scholarship Search and Time Management
* Personal Financial Literacy
* Career Exploration
* Personal Wellness
* University Services & Getting Involved on Campus
TIME COMMITMENT
The University Success Program begins with a mandatory orientation session held via Zoom in August. Multiple session options will be offered, and all awarded Scholars are required to register for and attend one session.
Following orientation, Scholars will participate in monthly learning opportunities led by a Scholar Services Coordinator, including virtual meetings and online modules.
Scholars are expected to commit 4 hours per month to this program. This program traditionally runs from August to the following May.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
If you are awarded and accept the Horatio Alger Scholarship, you will agree to complete the University Success Program (USP). No exemptions are offered for any portion of the University Success Program. In order to receive your funding, you must complete the University Success Program by all given due dates.
