Excellence Gala Reception at the Metro Convention Centre ( 7:00 to 10:00 pm)
Following the Scholar & Alumni Reception at the Fairmont Royal York, the group will proceed to the south entrance of the Metro Convention Centre for the Excellence Gala’s reception. During the 4th Annual Excellence Gala, we will celebrate the accomplishments of fellow compatriots who are doing great things for our country.
Hosted by our Board of Directors, the Excellence Gala will serve as the induction ceremony for our new Members of the Horatio Alger Association. The Association looks forward to honouring the following Horatio Alger Award Recipients:

We look forward to hosting you at the Scholar & Alumni Conference, at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, Ontario from October 31 to November 2, 2022.
A copy of your travel itinerary and boarding pass will be emailed to you from our travel partners. The first round of bookings should be sent out October 24, and everyone should have their information by October 26.
Familiarize yourself with all airline liquid regulations and luggage allowances prior to your trip. You should also make sure you leave room in your suitcase for your return trip since you will have items to bring home from the conference. In general, liquids over 3.4 fl. Oz. are not permitted in your carry-on luggage, and any liquids brought on board must fit into 1-quart sized plastic bag. Checked baggage should not weigh more than 50 lbs., or you will be subject to overweight charges. Leave extra room in your bag for gifts from Members and the Association. Please check with your airline for their specific policies regarding carry on and checked luggage.
You must provide a government issued photo ID at the airport or train station. You may be required to show a government issued photo ID to the airline/train staff upon check-in. You should bring the same government issued photo ID that you uploaded in the registration form.

When in doubt, dress conservatively. Avoid sheer or low cut tops as well as skirts that are more than one inch above the knee. The attire during the conference is business casual (sport coat or tie). The attire for the Excellence Gala is business formal (suit & tie).
